Anti-Racism Education with Destine Lord
On December 1, Anti-Racism and Inclusion consultant Destine Lord worked with Richmond Secondary School staff on approaches and strategies to navigate issues around race, inequity and discrimination. We recognize that in these challenging times, our students may have questions about race and racial injustice in Canada and the western world. Even though we nurture a kind and caring school community, addressing these issues is complex and a challenging endeavour. Students often turn to teachers and staff for context and perspective, and guidance and help. Teachers and staff need to know what to say and know how to support them. This in-service enhanced and supported our work in building equity, inclusion, and a sense of belonging for all of our students.
