Reconciliation Feathers Project

Since March 2020 roughly 400 students have created a feather artwork that is double sided.  The frame-work for creating the feathers asked students to do one or more of the following: reflect on their learning, educate the viewer, uplift the viewer, or make a commitment on how the student would actively engage with the reconciliation process.  The Installation on the windows is intentional. The feathers connect our two communities - the outside community with the inside community.  The feathers are installed in a ring design on the art room window.  Since the original installation, the feather ring has swelled into a wave that spreads across the office front windows.  They greet us as we enter the building.  Their movement and momentum symbolize our students’ energy and awareness growing.  You are invited to come and read the feathers and learn from them.  We hope they help grow empathy and understanding within you.
