Increased Visibility and Sustaining Momentum
After over five months away from school due to the ongoing challenges created by COVID-19, we welcomed staff back to school on September 8 and students back to school on September 10. While educators are facing many urgent changes and tasks in the first days of school due to revised timetables and important health and safety adjustments, we also wanted to highlight our RHS Learner Profile as a reminder of our core purpose. That is, despite our circumstances and changing teaching and learning conditions, perhaps more than ever, we are striving to develop students who are responsible, caring, reflective and resilient young people who can think and communicate effectively. We addressed our Learner Profile at our first staff meeting on September 8, it is published in our 2020-2021 student planners, in the "welcome back newsletter" to parents and we had special, larger versions (76cm X 118cm) of the poster created over the summer and they are displayed prominently in high traffic areas in the school as well as in the main staffroom. Our message is:
"Yes, school will be different this year, but our purpose remains the same - we are all striving to develop responsible, caring, reflective and resilient young people who can think and communicate effectively."
