RSS Student Voice

We hosted in-person student focus groups in Spring 2021 which were facilitated by staff, and one hundred students from across all grades and programs participated.  Our students had a lot to say about their learning and social-emotional health.  It was clear from the focus groups that students were eager to share their thoughts and perspectives, and appreciated the opportunity to have their voices heard.

Building on this interest, we put a call out to our student body looking for students who were interested in participating in focus groups to share ideas, observations, and to give input in to school decision making.  We created a database of students to whom we could reach out for input on a variety of topics, including the Secondary Structures process.  In addition to this school opportunity, we also had a team of students participate in the Richmond School District's Student Voice group which ran all year long.
