Targeted Literacy Supports
| An action that we have taken to support our school’s learning focus is: | The Literacy Support Facilitator is working collaboratively with teachers to strengthen literacy instruction across curricular areas. This includes supporting the use of graphic organizers and note-making templates to help students organize their thinking, improve comprehension, and develop effective note-taking skills. Teachers are also being encouraged to make cross-curricular connections so that students can apply literacy skills in meaningful ways across different subject areas. Particular attention is being given to ELL and emerging learners through differentiated supports such as scaffolding, sentence frames, and small-group instruction. In addition, the Literacy Support Facilitator is helping teachers use formative assessments and student reflection strategies to monitor progress, inform instruction, and support ongoing literacy growth. |
