District PLT Series on Artificial Intelligence (AI)

The use of artificial intelligence (AI) continues to expand rapidly, influencing not only education but society as a whole. As AI becomes increasingly integrated into our daily lives, it is important to recognize both its potential as a powerful tool and the limitations and risks it presents.
As part of a district-wide initiative, secondary students across Richmond will engage in a series of learning sessions focused on the safe, ethical, and effective use of artificial intelligence. These sessions will take place during seven designated Thursday PLT blocks throughout the school year. Each session will feature a virtual presentation streamed into classrooms, followed by a facilitated discussion to help students reflect on the role of AI in education and society.
RHS students will remain in their first block classes during these sessions to foster meaningful conversations within their learning communities. Through this initiative, we aim to equip students with the knowledge and critical thinking skills needed to navigate the evolving world of AI responsibly and thoughtfully.
