Good morning, Colts, 

I would like to acknowledge and thank the First Peoples of the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓  (hun-ki-meen-um) language group on whose traditional and unceded territories I learn and live. 

Now for your daily morning announcements! 

1. Cheerleading tryouts are Tuesday from 5-6:30pm in the small gym, good luck! 

2. ELL 4 and 5 students, you have your first meeting with your ELL teachers this week. ELL 5 students, please meet in the library today at 3:10 pm after school. ELL 4 students, please meet in the multipurpose room tomorrow at 3:10 pm after school. You will be completing a writing assessment, so please bring a pen, pencil and eraser. See you then!  

3. International students, your first RIE meeting will be on Thursday, September 24th at lunch in the LLC. Lunch will be provided. Please be reminded that this is a mandatory meeting.  

4. Representatives from 14 universities, colleges, and post-secondary institutions will be visiting our school as part of the Post-Secondary BC (PSBC) School Visit Program from 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM, tomorrow September 22nd. This event will be in the multipurpose room  

5. The Colts Card is an initiative we introduced to Richmond High last year, and we are glad to announce that we are ready to re-launch this project again this year. So, if a student has performed an act of kindness, any staff member can fill out one of our Colts Cards with that student’s name to submit to a draw. Starting this month, students’ names will be drawn (one from each grade), and those students will be receiving a free cafeteria lunch. Remember, the idea of the Colts Card is not to buy kindness, but to highlight the care that each of us already exhibit. The drop-off box for cards will be in the front office. Thank you, Colts, for all your efforts of being kind, caring and respectful.
