2026 Grade 8 Minicamp Information
Hello Parents of Incoming Richmond Secondary School Grade 8 Students:
Grade 8 Mini-Camp-Thursday, September 24, 2026
We are looking forward to hosting all of our youngest students for our annual Grade 8 Mini-Camp on Thursday, September 24. All Grade 8s will participate in many learning and community building activities at school, travel to the 6Pack Indoor Beach Centre by bus, enjoy two meals together, make some new friends, and get off to a great start at Richmond Secondary School. Grade 8s will arrive to school at 8:30 AM on September 24 and can be picked up at the school at 6:16 p.m. The camp will be supervised by staff and led by Grade 11 and 12 student leaders who have met several times to carefully plan every aspect of this event to ensure that it is welcoming, safe, and inclusive. We want every Grade 8 student to participate! If you haven’t done so already, please complete the registration package. The $50 payment can be made on SchoolCash Online. Please contact teachers Ms. Minato, Ms. Seminutin, or Mr. Eastwood, at the school if you have any questions. Welcome Grads of 2031!
Drop Off: Thursday, September 24 at 8:30am with needed supplies, in the Large Gym
Pick Up: Thursday, September 24 at 6:15pm in the Large Gym
Cost: $50 – includes lunch and an early dinner, snacks, bus, a T-Shirt and all activities. Payment will be made in September on SchoolCash Online when fieldtrip forms will be sent home.

NEED TO BRING for Grade 8 Mini-Camp:
[ ] Your RHS Student Agenda booklet and a pen
[ ] Wear a pair of running shoes that fit properly and tie up
[ ] Water bottle
Note: Student personal items should be labeled with student name where possible.
DO NOT BRING to Grade 8 Mini-Camp:
▪ Handheld digital devices including laptop computers or gaming devices
▪ Cell phones (if brought, must be turned off and remain in personal bags)/cameras
▪ Money
Parents are encouraged to contact me at the school if they have any questions. More information about activities will be provided to parents and students the first week of Grade 8. This will be a safe, memorable, and fun learning experience for all our youngest students and Camp Leaders, and we want all of our Grade 8s to participate and enjoy a fabulous start to high school!
