RSS National Indigenous Peoples' Day Celebration

Richmond Secondary students and staff are celebrating the distinct cultures and unique traditions of Canada's Indigenous peoples at our fifth annual RSS National Indigenous Peoples' Day Celebration on Friday, June 12.

Chelsei Gray and Noah Gray, sibling Powwow dancers and cultural educators, will run an interactive workshop featuring in-depth teachings on Hoop Dance and Powwow Dance.  Chelsei and Noah proudly come from Sq’éwlets, located in the heart of Stó:lō territory, as well as from the Quw'utsun, located in the Cowichan Valley region on Southern Vancouver Island (Coast Salish).

Kelly Poitras is a Metis Artist who is passionate about preserving Metis culture and traditions by sharing and educating others with her self-taught cultural expression of Metis Dot Art. Kelly will be facilitating a hands-on workshop on Metis Dot Art.
