Mental Health Week May 5-11
Richmond Secondary School is joining the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) in observing Mental Health Week from May 5-11. The focus is on unmasking mental health. Living with mental health challenges often forces people to hide behind a "mask" to protect themselves from judgment and discrimination. The heavier the stigma, the heavier the mask becomes, and the more isolated we feel. (SOURCE: https://cmha.ca)
CMHA's theme for this year's Mental Health Week is UNMASKING MENTAL HEALTH. We can build greater understanding of mental health by "looking beyond the surface and seeing the whole person". Let's deepen our connections by embracing honesty and vulnerability.

All this week, the RHS Colt Ambassadors and the RSS Counselling Department are helping to celebrate, educate, and promote mental health. Check out what's happening by following along on the school's X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram @RichmondColts.
