We hope that all of our students and families enjoy a relaxing and safe summer! We encourage teens to get outside and be active, but to also follow the health protocols outlined by Dr. Bonnie Henry - maintain physical distancing, wash your hands throroughly and regularly and consider wearing a mask when you cannot maintain social distancing. We all have a role in keeping BC a safe place to live!
For September, Richmond Secondary will follow the health and safety directions of the Provincial Health Officer, the expectations of the Ministry of Education and we will work with the Richmond School District to determine what school will look like to start the year. We are planning for all options - students fully back in school, or a continuation of remote learning, or blended online and in-class learning. All parents and students are urged to follow us on Twitter (@RichmondColts) and subscribe to our website. We will post updates during the summer, and in late-August we will email all families and post important school start-up and calendar information. The first day of the 2020-2021 school year will be Tuesday, September 8 and in a best-case scenario, this will include all students attending homerooms, getting their lockers, timetables, student agendas and attending Grades 8-11 welcome assemblies. Our first regular school day will be Wednesday, September 9 and this will be Day 1 – 1234. Our first Grad 2021 assembly will be on September 11.
Enjoy the warm summer days and please stay connected to the school!
