The Richmond School District has proposed boundary changes that could impact 26 schools beginning in September, 2020. This includes three school boundary revisions that may affect Richmond Secondary School. The purpose of a school boundary revision is to reflect the regional strategy contained in the District’s Long Range Facilities Plan (LRFP). Please see the attached documents below for detailed information on the proposed school boundary revisions.
These documents explain the proposed changes. They do not impact current Richmond Secondary School students. In a brief summary, the changes will shift the Blundell catchment away from RHS and also decrease the size of the Ferris catchment. Over time, the changes could result in fewer Grade 8 students entering Richmond Secondary School to balance projected growth in the city centre area.
After reading the proposed changes, feedback is welcome from all stakeholders on the District Let's Talk website. Please note, feedback closes on November 15, 2019.
