Public Health Notice March 13, 2020

MARCH 13, 2020

Canadian and B.C. health experts continue to closely monitor the evolving and changing status of the novel COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak around the world. As a school and a district, we are striving to stay on top of the latest information in an effort to keep all students and staff safe. Please find letters below from the Richmond School District's Superintendent of Schools and the BC Ministry of Education (English and Chinese). This information was published on March 13, 2020.

Please note, as of March 13, there are no plans to extend spring break and we hope to resume school on Monday, March 30. If this changes, information will be posted on the RHS website, the SD38 website and on the school Twitter account. We will also strive to email students and families directly. Please note the following expectations:

  • Anyone returning from outside of Canada will be asked to self-isolate for 14 days before returning to school.

  • All field trips outside of Canada have been cancelled.

  • All student exchanges and visits to Richmond public schools are being cancelled or rescheduled.

  • All staff work-related travel outside of Canada for conferences and professional development have been cancelled.

  • Any new student registrants arriving from outside of Canada will be required to self-isolate for 14 days before attending school.
