Grad 2017 Important Info

The month of June is a busy time for the members of our 89th graduating class, the RHS Grads of 2017!  

Grad Transitions must be completed to be eligible to graduate and GT interviews are happening in May and early June - see Mr. Khan in room 209 if you have not completed GT or booked your interview.    

The mandatory Grade 12 assembly and Valedictory rehearsal will be on Wednesday, June 7.  All Grade 12s must be in the gym, in their assigned seat, by 1:15pm sharp. This is important as grads will check their final Transcript Verification Report (TVR), practice for the ceremony and receive their graduation gown, stole and mortar board hat and 2017 tassel.

The Valedictory Ceremony is on Saturday, June 10 at the beautiful UBC Chan Center for the Performing Arts at 1:00pm.  The grads must arrive inside the Chan Centre by 12noon. Valedictory tickets will be distributed to grads and extra tickets will be for sale during the week of May 29 to June 2 - if you have any questions, please contact Ms. Hui in the office. Please note, parents and guests must have a ticket to get into the UBC Chan Centre and the ceremony will start at 1:00PM sharp, so guests must arrive early - doors will open at 12:15pm.

The English 12 Provincial Exam is on Friday, June 23.  Grade 12 students must arrive by 8:30AM with their photo I.D./Go-Card, pens and pencils.  Grade 12s will receive their yearbook on Monday, June 26 at a homeroom at 12noon (be sure you have returned or paid for lost texts or uniforms).  Yearbooks will be followed by The Colt Carnival!

All Grade 12s are reminded to come to the school to get their final report card at 10AM on Thursday, June 29. 

Grade 12s going to Dry After Grad will drop off their change of clothing bag and a garment bag (put your full name on both) at the school on June 28 between 5-7pm. The formal Grad 2017 Dinner and Dance will be on Thursday, June 29 at the beautiful Pan Pacific Hotel in downtown Vancouver. Students are responsible for their own transportation downtown and the doors open at 6:30pm.  The Dinner & Dance ends at 11:45pm. Students not attending Dry After Grad will need a ride home - please make arrangements for rides to be at the hotel at 11:45pm.

The Dinner & Dance is followed immediately afterwards by the parent-organized Dry After Grad (DAG) back at the school. Students attending DAG will travel to this fabulous event from downtown by assigned bus. Parents are still needed to help with the Dry After Grad event - please attend the DAG organizational meeting on Tuesday, June 6 at 7pm in the library or contact Lynn at lynn.braun@hotmail.com to get involved.
