Global Perspectives Fundraising Dinner Nov. 22

Every year since 1995, a group of Richmond Secondary School students and staff have travelled to developing nations all over the world.  The purpose of the course is to get young people actively involved in global challenges by learning about, planning, fundraising and then travelling, meeting and helping people in a developing nation. The Global Perspectives program is a unique and amazing opportunity for students to learn more about other cultures and see first hand the devastating impacts of poverty and how helping others help themselves through education and advocating for social justice are important, lifelong pursuits.  This year our Global group is travelling to India and parents, friends and community members can get involved by attending our annual fundraising dinner on Tuesday, November 22 at 5pm.  The dinner will feature delicious Indian food prepared by our Professional Cook Training students and staff and include other raffles, auctions and prizes. For ticket information, to learn more about the March 2017 trip to India or about Global Perspectives in general or to make a financial contribution, please contact teacher Kevin Matheny at kmatheny@sd38.bc.ca  Please explore and read 2017 student blogs on the Global Perspectives website at: https://www.globalperspectivescanada.com
