The Ministry of Education has declared that there will be two additional professional learning days dedicated to studying and discussing the new provincial curriculum for all public school teachers in B.C. Across the Richmond School District, the dates for the two days of non-instructional time to support curriculum implementation were determined by senior administration in consultation with the Richmond Teacher's Association. The first day will be Friday January 29 (Day 2) and the second day will be on Monday May 2 (Day 1). Students will not be in attendance on these days and teachers and staff will be engaged in studying and planning to implement curriculum changes. (Please note, IB students will attend on May 2 to write the IB English exam, as scheduled).
Please read the letter below from Superintendent Monica Pamer regarding these two days (letter available in English and Chinese).
